Rita Hummingbird received her undergraduate accounting degree from Texas Lutheran University and obtained her CPA certificate in 1974. A member of the Society of Louisiana CPAs, Rita also served as president of the Estate Planning Council of Shreveport and participated on the Louisiana Tax Conference Committee. She served as a member and chairman of the Shreveport Downtown Development Authority and as a member of the Texas Lutheran University Corporation. Rita previously served on several not-for-profit boards, including the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce's Executive Committee, Southfield School, and was a recipient of the Leadership Council's Rising Young Business Leader Award. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors of LSUHSC Foundation as treasurer.
